What is Zapier integration?
Zapier moves information between different apps. This integration can be used to integrate Leads directly into your Agency MVP account when the lead fills out an electronic form such as a JotForm, Google Form or Facebook Lead. You'll need to create a Zap for this to work.
NOTE: Before setting up this Zap, please create your form and fill out your form to allow for a test run. You can find apps integrated with Zapier here.
Check out the video here.
Getting Started
1. Agency MVP’s Zapier integration is by invite only. Click here to accept the invite & build a Zap.
2. From your Zapier account, click Create Zap or Make a Zap.
3. Name your Zap in the top left corner.
4. Set your Trigger - Select the app and event that will trigger a Zap.
- First, choose the electronic form that you'll be using (Jotform, Google form, Wufoo, etc)
- NOTE: You'll want to create the form first AND fill it out with sample data. This is needed for testing in a later step
- For the trigger event, you'll choose what you want it to do when someone fills out the form
- Click continue
5. Choose & connect your account where your form is hosted then click continue
6. Select the name of the form you created.
- If you've created more than one, you'll want to set up a zap for each form.
- Click continue
7. Test your trigger. Note: This should show you data that has been filled out on this form. If you have not yet filled out your form, please exit out of this Zap and complete your form, then start over.
8. Confirm that the data on your form looks accurate, then click continue.
9. Select the app for Action 2
- Search AgencyMVP (no spaces) and select version 1.0.2
- Select the Action Event - Create Lead.
- Note: Currently, the only action event available is to Create Lead.
10. Connect your Agency MVP account.
- Click Sign In to enter your Org Token (this will not actually require you to sign into your MVP account).
- A new window will appear, for you to add the Organization Token
- NOTE: To find your Org token, from the admin account, please click your name in the top right, click "Account Information" then in the second box you'll see the organization token. Click copy to clipboard on the right. This copies the token for easy pasting into the Zapier box.
- Click "Yes, continue."
- Then back on the original Zapier web page, click the blue continue button.
11. Set up the action - This is where you will map the information on your form to what MVP is looking for.
- Fields you can map include:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Mobile Number
- SMS Consent
- Select true or false
- Street
- City
- State
- Zipcode
- Notes
- NOTE: The name and address must be split. If your form is sending the full name or full address in the same line, you will need to split the text (See steps to split text at the end of this document).
- Marketing Source: Here you can create the Marketing Source you wish to add anyone that fills out the form for this zap by clicking custom tab and typing in what you want the marketing source to be
- NOTE: This means you can create custom marketing sources for EACH Zap
- Make sure that after you test the zap (a later step), you go into MVP and create an API workflow for the new Marketing Source
- NOTE: This means you can create custom marketing sources for EACH Zap
- Click the blue Continue button
12. Click Test & Continue to test your action.
- This will take a minute to complete
13. If the test was successful, you will now find this Lead in your Agency MVP account. To find this Lead you will click Leads in the header bar and then API Leads in your Agency MVP account.
14. Click "Turn on Zap" and wait for new Leads to integrate!
NOTE: Now that you've run a test, the custom marketing source you created will now be available when you create an API workflow. Make sure to create an API workflow for these leads so MVP can automatically assign a workflow as soon as they come in.
Splitting Text in Zapier
You will only need to complete these steps if your form does not split the first and last name into different strings (lines of data), or the address (Each string of data should be as follows: house number & street name, city, state, zip code).
1. After Action 1, click the "+" symbol.
2. Click on “Format” on the right-hand side.
3. Choose “Text” as your Action Event then click continue.
4. For Transform, choose “Split Text”. For Input, select the string (line of data) you would like to split. For Separator, you will enter in a space or comma. Note: For name, you will enter a space. For address, you will most likely use a comma.
5. You will now use add or continue creating Action 3 and follow the steps to create an event in Agency MVP as listed above (Step 9).
