Two days down and your setup is looking sharp. Today is the day the system starts doing the work behind the scenes, and your job is to understand exactly what it is doing so you can work with it rather than around it.
Producers who understand how their workflows run are the ones who feel in control of the system. The ones who skip this step spend their first month confused about why leads are responding to messages they did not send. You are going to be in the first group.
Step 1 — Confirm Your Email Signature Is Correct
Your email signature goes out on every quote comparison email and every workflow email sent under your name. Before workflows go live today, make sure it looks exactly the way you want it to.
- Click your name in the top right.
- Click My Account Settings.
- Scroll down to Custom Email Signature.
- Confirm it looks correct.
- If it needs to be updated, make the changes, click Test Email Signature to preview, and click Save.
💡 Tip: Your signature is automatically added to every Quote Comparison email. To add it to workflow emails, check the Append customized signature to end of email box inside each individual email action in your workflow.

Step 2 — Understand the Three Workflow Types
You do not need to build workflows. Your agency owner handles that. But you do need to understand what is running behind your leads so you are never caught off guard.
- Click your name in the top right.
- Click Workflows.
There are three workflow types in Agency MVP:
API These fire automatically when a new lead comes into Agency MVP through an integration or lead source. You do not assign these manually. When a new lead arrives, the API workflow runs on its own.
Custom These are assigned manually to leads you or your agency owner want to put on a specific follow-up path. If your agency owner assigns a custom workflow to your leads, this is the type that runs.
X-Date These are for renewal-based follow-up. They are covered in detail on Day 6. You do not need to worry about these today.
Step 3 — Know Which Workflows Apply to You
Talk to your agency owner today and ask which workflows will be assigned to your leads. Find out:
- Which workflow runs when a new lead comes in automatically
- Which custom workflows you might be assigned manually
- What each workflow does and how long it runs
Understanding this before you start working leads means you are never confused about why a lead is responding to a message you did not personally send. You will know it is the system working on your behalf, and you will know exactly what was said.
💡 Tip: Producers who understand their workflows close more because they can follow up personally at the right moment — right after the workflow has already warmed the lead up.
